On this Good Friday, we grieve the violence of humanity. In John's account of Jesus' death, his final words are: "I am thirsty... It is finished." He is offered a jar of sour wine as he takes his final breaths. Even in his final moments, Jesus is overflowing with truth and the fullness of human experience.
We will observe Good Friday with a service of Scripture reading and extinguishing candles, gradually growing darker to symbolize the coming darkness of Jesus' death.
